2019: (1) After the resignation of the Dean of College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA), Dr. John Anderson became the acting Dean of CEA on April 15, 2019.  (2) Cameron Lewis (CpE, '19) received the Black Engineer of the Year award, who is now a graduate student in Computer Engineering at Howard. (3) Hackaton (Cyber Truck) was held on April 5, 2019 at the Maker Space (in Mackey building) sponsored by Cummins.

A rush update up to 2019:   (1) Spring 2016 Dr. Achille Messac was appointed as the new dean of College of Engineering, Architecture, and Computer Sciences (CEACS); (2) Soon after, the name of the collge was changed to CEA; (3) Soon after, the department of ECE and the department of SYCS (Systems and Computer Sciences) are merged to the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS), and the EECS department moved to Room 1016 of the Downing Hall; (4) Soon after, Dr. Ahmed Rubbai was appointed to the interim chair of EECS; (5) Spring 2019 Dr. Mohamed Chouikha, the former chair of ECE, left Howard and went to Prairie View A&M Univesity in Texas; (6) Fall 2017 Dr. Michaela Amoo was hired as an assistant professor in Computer Engineering; (7) Fall 2018 Dr. Yan Su was hired as an assistant professor in the field of Electromagnetics; (8) Spring 2018 Dr. Dimian Mihai left and moved to Romania; (9) Spring 2018, on leave from Howard, Dr. James Momoh started to serve as Board Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission in Nigeria. (10) Dr. Gedare Bloom, an assistant professor of CS, left Howard and went to University of Colorado.
